Climate

Wayanad has a salubrious hill station climate. The average rainfall in the district is 2500 m.m. Lakkidi is the highest rainfall area in Wayanad, which receives an annual rainfall of 3500m.m among the highest in India. The mean maximum and minimum temperature is 29 degree C and 18 degree C respectively. The Green Paradise has a high relative humidity, which peaks up to 95 per cent during the south-west Monsoon period. Wayanad is a part of highly protected Western Ghats biosphere stated to be among the World Heritage Sites
